The usual process for that has been to put down co-op races on everyone's schedule (So if you have 4 racers, 4 people put it down). I think there was an issue with SGDQ where Feasel ended up in like 8 games because he kept getting addes as a co-op partner.

To put it another way, yes, co-op games count against your 5 submission limit.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
Werey: Yes, I can accommodate for schedule limitations.

Crak Atak: What studio and Emptyeye said. It might seem redundant to have all  of the people involved submitting, but it proves they're all aware they're enlisted for a co-op run or race.
Hax I used all of my strengthz
I figured as much, thanks for the response. Now to figure out who wants to do co-op stuff.

Rockband or Riot.

Oh hell yes. I'll bring the instruments and console with all the DLC myself if we can play Rock Band.
as long as yoco is in bonus i will be a happy person
Tetris/Melee player
People from Tetrisconcept are considering running the Tetris : The Grand Master (TGM) series at AGDQ. It's a speed-oriented version of Tetris and the objectives are extremely hard (it's that invisible tetris stuff). But I have a few questions just in case you guys are not okay with that so we can plan in advance :

TGM does not have a route, and judging from the time American TGM players presented the game at STG Weekly, it seems interesting that we have a demo rather than simply a speedrun of various different categories of the game, so we can show the most interesting parts of the game during a limited time span. Would you guys be okay with it?

Also, several people think that since it's a series, and the first game is the slowest, it might be nice to have the first one before the rest of the bunch so people can commentate and explain the different techniques of the game. I read for availabilities of people working that stuff could be accomodated, but is it possible to make it so that TGM1 appears before TGM2 and/or TGM3?

Thanks in advance for your reply!

Worthless categories WR master
I am not remotely close to being an authority, but my feeble opinion would be that it is not a bad idea. There has been a few demos in the past that weren't exactly speedruns (I'm thinking TAS block, the Star Fox 64 High Score run and um... yeah that might be it actually) so who knows. I believe some games with a very high skill cap could be showcased even though they are not proper speedruns, though it would need to showcase speed play at least. In this case, I believe Tetris The Grand Master fits. I don't know that game precisely aside from having seen that invisible tetris video but if it's a speed-oriented Tetris, then obviously the best players are gonna play at lightning speed. I would say it qualifies. Other games might have some high score runs that could be very interesting and, while not being proper speedruns, could still fit within a time frame and have the same entertainment value as an actual speedrun. I have no specific example right now but I know such games exist.

Again so I am clear, I am not an authority, I'm just stating an opinion.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
heehee: If medibot can be there then it's a possibility.

Qlex: I think TGM could be successful if done well, especially considering that everyone knows Tetris, and the TGM games can be blindingly fast. My biggest reservation with having a demo instead of a speedrun is that it could drag on for too long if it's not done correctly, especially if you plan on showcasing all three games. Why don't you PM me with a more specific plan of what you're going to do.
will there be an awful block
My feelings on The Demon Rush
Yes, there will likely be an awful block again. The block I'm not so sure is wtf japan because it didn't seem that popular and it didn't get a lot of reception. Maybe I'll merge it a bit with the awful block
Pudding%
Just have the WTF Japan block be a 4 player money match of Straight Baseball Life.

Only then will we know who is truly good at milk.
Do people usually make a video to go along with their submission and would that help my chances of getting accepted?

They don't typically make a video, but a twitch VOD of the run or something alike is usually a good idea. Nothing special/fancy
Crawlathon WR, get down on my level.

Definitely be prepared to show some sort of example of you running the game in the category you want to run. Unless you're pretty well known to Mike for what you're running, he'll need that as examples that you're actually capable of running the game. It's not required to be some big showpiece, just a Twitch highlight/YouTube upload of your PB is fine.
Thanks guys <3
Since submissions will be running through the Gamesdonequick.com site instead of the forums/google docs, could the link to the submissions page be made available in advance?  This might keep the forums from getting destroyed as they have been on recent submission days.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
StingerPA, if the page is done, then yes.
Now I was wondering since I can run the same game on both PC and PS3 since there are no differences do I need to submit both?

No, you can just specify that you can do either version. But you should probably pick at some point, if only so we can plan out fewer console switches if possible.
All right I am more practiced on PC plus the load times between levels are faster so I'll put that in. I thought I heard a rumor that GDQ's were limiting PC games though. Was that false?
Time to get my terrible games rejected again this year. Tongue

I swear I run more than Castlevania Adventure, but just about all the other games I bother to run have specialists with tight times that deserve the spot more than me.

If your game is poorly programmed it might have issues with the gaming PCs (hello Boshy), so be prepared to use a laptop if necessary. Other than that, no, we don't really limit them more than anything else, really.
