If your run gets accepted then your name is shown on the front page anyway (at least forum name). If not … well may-be it stays hidden, but it doesn't have to be. On the other hand, it would do its best to prevent personal sympathies if verifiers didn't know whose run they were watching. But then again, most follow the game threads, and know exactly who is the person in question by the 12,758th frame Wink

Let me clarify the way the visibility rules work.

If you're an admin, you see everything.
If you're one of the runners listed on a submission, you see most things. The stuff that remains hidden is for admin use only right now.
If you're listed as a verifier or otherwise have been granted 'access' to the run (on a per-run basis), you'll see the checklist progress and the run comments, but not the runner name.
Otherwise, you only see the run title, the completion date, and a few other categorical things.

You'll also sometimes see run links that have been made public, such as a link to the Verification Decision thread.

I'm certainly not about to ask that somebody gets banned for pointing out a potential security hole, but in the future I'd prefer you PMed me about it.

If it bothered me or the other admins that people could just enter in random numbers and see other runs in the database I would have put something in place to prevent it. There are certainly a few runs right now that you can't see, but that's intentional. And me explaining what they are would defeat the purpose of them being hidden. Smiley
Ganondorf = Donkey Kong LOOK IT UP!!
Verification time reduced from 10 months to 8. CRITICAL HIT!
Exoray
Actually with the new system we have a full overview over verifications and which ones has gone stale so we would be able to catch any extreme cases and take action before it takes that long.
The good SDA people are always coming up with great ideas (like marathons) and slick improvements to the site (like the Taiga forum and this new queue system).  I've hardly been around at all for a long time (haven't had the urge to speedrun) but I still have a very high opinion of SDA, its community and all its work Grin

F*ckin' sanity effects...
Thank you for your continued efforts at this awesome site.

New treat for the users in general (most of what I've been adding has been backend stuff):

http://queue.speeddemosarchive.com/queue/myruns/

This does NOT include runs that were already on the site when we started working on this. Other than that, let me know if there's any weirdness.
SDA Apprentice -- (3-1)
wow! It is all neatly organized!

Two quick questions to ask though, once a game has finished with the verification, is accepted/reject and/or is posted on the site, does that run get taken down off the queue list?

Alongside with that, what is the alternate way for us to access this: Queue/myruns?

To answer your second question first, it's linked off the root page if you're logged in.

Eventually, maybe, someday, all existing runs will be in this system. All runs submitted after we starting using it as a backend will never be deleted (unless they were created in error). Even cancelled runs live on in the system. Paper trails are good. Smiley
Quits halfway
Not sure if it's because it's multiplayer, but the cvhd multiplayer NG+ no-zip ch1-6 IL table is duplicated. This is really cool though! Awesome to see stuff improving on SDA.

Is it printing the same link twice, or are there actually two entries?

Same link printed twice on that myruns page, going to run 238.

Alright, I'll look into that when I get the time, then.
Fucking Weeaboo
Holy...wow. That is fucking awesome.
Is PJ
The CVHD multiplayer table only shows up once for me (yea, this is also my run).  Strange that Aftermath gets it twice.

Also yea, I second VG.  This is amazing.  Great work!

The My Runs page filters out duplicates now, though I'm still not clear on why I'm getting duplicates to begin with. I'll investigate it more after I have other stuff implemented.

Glad you guys like it, I've definitely got plenty more goodies planned...

Don't know what to speedrun :(
Question UA. If we see something in the queue does that mean it's out of the runners hands at that point? I ask because one of my games currently has the following under Remaining Checklist:

--Commentary Track
--Postverification
--Prerelease Check

I'm assuming the last two aren't me. Is the first one saying that I (the runner) need to provide the commentary track or is that just a note that it is going to have one? I wonder because there is a commentary and I'm pretty sure I provided it. I'm tempted to PM Flip and confirm but I don't want to annoy the mods unnecessarily.

If it's possible for there to be something in the checklist that the runner needs to provide could we update the checklist to state that the runner needs to complete the task? I think that might prevent unnecessary queries. If it's completely out of your hands by the time it gets to the checklist then this suggestion can be ignored.

'Commentary Track' means it's marked as waiting for one. If you already provided one, or aren't planning on providing one, then one of the admins can mark it off. Commentary was a bit haphazard before so after migrating all the old information over I had no idea which runs had commentary and which didn't, or which were waiting on them, so I erred on the side of caution and just marked everything as needing commentary. Eventually I'll give runners a bit more control without having to contact an admin, such as being able to submit a new set of comments directly into the interface instead of having to send it to Flip or puwexil. Everything will still require admin approval, of course.

The last two are things that the admins do such as making the game page and making sure the videos are properly encoded. If there's something you need to do here you'll generally be contacted by an admin.
Willing to teach you the impossible
I know this is mainly about verification, but I would like to ask about a small change that took place not too long ago.

What happened to the SDA logo and the (more important) link to the SDA main page? Is it just my browser acting up or was it removed? And if it was removed, why?
Exoray
It's still there, maybe you just have it hidden?
There's a blue arrow like shape at the top left that let's you show/hide the top part.
