This is the notes for the DMC DMD! NG LDK run-through. This is not a perfect run, but I wanted it be more of an "honest" run, showing what happens when I run through the game without resetting. If I were to say, this would be a below average run for me, as I made some grave mistakes that never would happen otherwise. Quite honestly, if I can make past the Frosts in Mission 7, I will be able to make it to the end. If I run this in the marathon, I will probably actually end up resetting to get more SBs that I didn't get in this playthrough, but in reality, it makes very little difference, so there's a chance I won't even bother. I decided to write short notes for each mission and how I would do it in the marathon Now for Mission 1, I want to get an SB, but I absolutely do not NEED it. I was thinking of retrying 3-5 times to get the SB and after those attempts, I will go through even if I don't get the SB. I will save after Mission 1 to guarantee an SB in M2. For Mission 2, I can handle both Sins and Blades. Sins are easy. The hard part about Blades is simply the initial group, as if I fight all three at once, I can get hit. Afterwards, they spawn one at a time and I can quickly get the CH for each one. FOr Mission 3, if I get 1 SB so far, I will have around 4500 orbs, which gives me enough for Air Hike and Stinger 1. It will be slower, but that's the bare minimum I need. For Mission 4, I am going for the SB. I screw it up in this run, but I decided to go through anyways just to see if it makes that big of a difference(and it really didn't) Mission 5 is another mission where I am going for the SB. I grab an Untouchable for Mundus 2. Mission 6 is one where I am NOT going for the SB. The reason is that I rarely can get past the Plasmas without taking a hit, and my luck is that even if I do, I then get hit by the Death Scissors. Mission 7 is the last mission I am worried about for a long time. Normally, I buy two to three blue orbs, except in this run I forgot, but I got through the Frosts anyways. I will accept dying here once. If I die more than once, I will reset, as I want to save my yellow orbs. Mission 8 is where I need to get the SB, just because it is so easy. I go for the CH strategy because honestly, you can only focus on one strategy and not both at the same time(Critical hits or break through the ceiling). Mission 9 is fairly simple. I always get hit by the Blades though, which is why I was playing around with the shotgun instead of grenadegun. Mission 10 is where I can attempt the SB, but I decided not to simply because of the Blades. I use a Holy Water because the Kyklops are annoyingly long. Mission 11 is where I go for the SB. In this run, I screwed up against the Death Scythe, so instead of using the Holy Water on the Blades, I go grenade rolling for orbs. I do the Secret Mission to make up for the damage and if I get a damageless Nelo 2, I will get the SB. This is what happened. For Nelo 2, all I need is Kick 13-2. Inferno will make things faster, but I am not guaranteed to have enough orbs to buy it. Mission 12 is where I want to go for the SB. However, Griffon 2 is strange. Normally if you don't attack Griffon 2, he will send a weak wing. But for some reason, he kept sending me strong wings, and that's why I died. Mission 13 is where I spend the extra time for the SB. I grab another Untouchable for Mundus 2. Mission 14 is the last mission where I can really get the SB, so I go for it. From Mission 15 and on, I aim for SB, but I do not need them, nor do I expect SB's, so I will not reset for SBs. Once I reach this point, I do not worry about the run at all. I grab the Holy Water in Mission 15 for an emergency because I do not need it. Griffon 3 was a bit of a mess. For some reason, my Meteor 2 didn't get the double hit, but it was okay. Afterwards, my main strategy is knockdown for Griffon in two stages, an initial attack, get far away to let Griffon attack, then get back and finish it off. It was very weird, because Griffon just simply refused to use his lightning attacks, but in the end I got through and I even didn't get hit. I got the SB in Mission 16 but I don't really need it. Mission 18 is where I fight Shadow Griffon instead of using Meteors to keep Nightmare's top core from turning red because I suck. I got hit by core rays, but those are a bit unpredictable. Mission 19 should be an easy SB, except the large Nobody decided to run up to me and punch me successfully. It doesn't matter though because I don't need any more SB's at this point. Mission 20 was a mess at the end. I died because the controls decided to be unresponsive right at the very last moment. Then my second attempt, I got through the final core without taking damage. Mission 21 is where I do not aim for the SB, just because I don't get enough red orbs Mission 22 is terrible. Every time I get to Mundus 1 on a new, single segment playthrough, he has the worst AI. Here, he does the lightning storm, meteors, and helicopter lightning, which is just frustrating. I did die once. Mundus 2 is also heavily reliant on how the AI acts. I got through because the AI here was nice. I used a Vital Star because I knew I was going to get hit, and I didn't want to try again. I only got through Mundus 2 here without dying because of the AI really. If I died, I will keep retrying until my last life, where I will use the two Untouchables I picked up. Now on the worst case scenario, I did a run where I was playing horribly, and I got SB's in only Mission 2 and 19. I still made it all the way to Mundus 2.
