Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception (Any %) (Segmented)

Verifier Responses

Quote:
Cheating: No cheating detected.

Play quality: High quality of play throughout the run, no major mistakes as far as I could tell.

Audio/Visual quality: Video and sound are top notch.

Despite being a quite annoying game to speedrun, the runner has made a very good job with this run.

Decision: Accept.

Cheating- None observed.

Play Quality- Presented good skill and knowledge of the game. Great use of checkpoints and precise platforming.

Audio/Visual Quality- Both are well done.

Comments- The Uncharted series has gone too long without a good run being on SDA.

Decision: Accept.

Quote from Uilnslcoap:
Prelude/1: Good, one missed punch?

2/3/4: about as fast as can be expected…way to take quick routes through the platforming, like jumping on a lower letter of the “Arrecife” sign as young Nate.  Good jumping as far along the pipes as possible like at 13:28.

5: Taking the quickest climbing routes, etc.  Running and gunning (mostly running) delightful.

6/7: Seems like getting pushed off the ramp at 43:18 slows Nate down, perhaps so lucky besides that this is okay?  Otherwise more continuous awesome.

8: Good.  Boy, standing there for sooooooo long a couple of “scenes” in a row is painful.

9/10: More essentially perfect platforming and excellent running and gunning.  The “stealth kill” of the two guys who jump down during the fist fight was hilarious.

11: Long chapter.  All pretty excellent.

12: Nice getting past the first detritus to the save point without fighting anyone. Good little chunk of climbing skipped around 1:39:46.

13: Very good.  Rocket launcher on ship done ASAP.

14/15/16: Cruise ship is probably my favorite part of the game, and as cinematic as you would hope here.  Hangar/airplane-chasing action almost as good.

17/18/19: Fun aboard a plane crash…and then Nate walks through the desert for a while.  Neat that aiming the gun is useful during the long walk.  The four-grenade toss and escape with the rocket launcher was awesome.

20: Watch Drake do mostly nothing on a horseback ride!  Then flee a gunfight barely surviving (that was really neat, been wondering if that would happen at some point in this run, given so many of the gunfights are mandatory).  “DRAKE CAN CLIMB AROUND CHANDELIERS!” the game proclaims one last time.

21/22: Boom, shazam, gunfights ignored or minimum tangled with.  Autosaves jump us forward in time, and Drake has a mostly-QTE final boss fight.

Overall, the runner does a great job of being efficient both getting around the map and fighting, uses a lot of save points to decisive advantage, and proves how much of this game is 1) waiting to be able to interact with a puzzle or 2) walking, shimmying, riding on a horse or weaving (on drugs) down a narrow passageway/across a desert/on horseback/through city streets with absolutely no other gameplay or way to speed it up.  According to the tracker at the end, just over 10 minutes was spent just standing still.

The Audio and Video both check out here and I noted no evident cheating.  IQ looks great.

2:35 says the in-game/save file timer.
