Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage (Any %) (Single Segment)

Verifier Responses

Time: 0:45 gains control of Spyro, 30:07 lands final hit on Ripto. Final time is 29:22.

Everything is at a very high standard for this run. Movement is consistently fluid only bumping into walls a couple of times. All skips are successful on the first try with very minor hiccups such as getting hit by a rock flying up to the volcano in Magma cone or missing the jump to the top of the statue in Colossus once, un-notable times are lost with these.
There is great RNG on all boss fights although the first 2 phases of the Ripto fight could be a little better. The boss fights are also executed really well.
The gem route is good and any extra gems picked up at the end waste no time.

My decision is: Accept.

Congrats Crash41596, it's a really entertaining, clean, run!

Comments:

A very solid run overall, which will be hard to improve upon. There are a few minor mistakes like bumping into walls at some points but nothing that really sticks out. It's really not worth going into IL detail cause 80% of it just wouldn't have anything to point out.
All hard tricks are executed very well and, except for the first Ripto phase, the boss RNG was great as well, especially the Gulp battle was exceptionally fast due to good item drops.

There's really not much else to say other than: Accept!

Congrats!

Overall the run is very solid, with only small mistakes that cost little time.

Accept.

A/V: All good

Cheating: None

Very clean run, with only a few small mistakes here and there. Very good Gulp luck with the rockets, though slightly iffy luck with Ripto (all those blues =[ ). Not much else to say, this run is great.

Decision: Accept

Very nice job Crash!

Decision: Accept

Congratulations to Matt 'Crash41596' Leblanc!

Trying to figure out whether or not this run should obsolete the previous 34 minute run.
I'm assuming this run also goes the large-skip route.
This run is on the NTSC version, was the run currently up made on the PAL version? If so are there enough differences to warrant a separate category?
Reverse Death Valley Bomb
The run on SDA was NTSC PSN played on PS3, this run is NTSC PSX played on PS2. There are speed differences in mostly all versions of this game and what console they're played on but, regardless, if this run was played on NTSC PSN, like the SDA run, it would still be faster so I don't think it warrants its' own category.
And yes it's major skips.
Speed is all that matters.
Yea, given that the difference is pretty big now it would still be faster if it was the PSN version on a PS3.

Pretty much exactly what DRsynj said.
This run obsoletes the old one.
