Here's another video of NinG's clip with an actual use:

We basically just need to take one smaller basket and put a larger one on it. It won't clip through the door though so it might not work everywhere when there's oob outside the side walls like into a small room or something. But still really cool :D.

It is indeed cool, but with the Thalmor Embassy skip we won't have whirlwind sprint. It might be quite useful in other categories tho, or we might try to find a quest trigger somewhere with that. Unfortunately I can't recall any door or wall with a trigger like in Oblivion. And we need clear skies anyway so it wouldn't be that simple, Scepheo's find is as good as it gets.

I honestly didn't think about clipping through dungeon backdoors, but that's probably where it could save the most time. But since it looks like we're skipping whirlwind sprint in an any% it might only be useful in other runs (such as 100%).

Aside from that, I think I didn't read it in this thread yet, but it is possible to perform a double jump. To do this, you have to hold an item in front of you, jump, and then move the item below you and spam the jump button. If done correctly, you can jump a second time in midair. This may not be useful to gain height, but you can jump larger distances (and probably cross bigger gaps), if you don't have the whirlwind sprint to do that. This doesn't work well with small items, as far as I can tell, it works best with large, flat things. I can do a video of it, if it is needed but its actually pretty easy to pull off.

Edit:
So I've tested the oob-thing a bit, and in most dungeons you're warped back to the entrance (or at least near the entrance). In some dungeons however, the oob-area warps you to some random spot in the middle of it. This would allow skipping large parts of dungeons when there's no backdoor that you can clip through to get to the end of the dungeon fast. I've recorded an example:

I actually don't have that much time the next days, so I might not be able to look too deep into all this stuff, but I'm trying to look for other dungeons where this happens.
With the current sequence break, getting to the back doors of High Hrothgar became important. Because the front doors are closed we need a quick and easy way as we need to go there 3(?) times. I think I found a way, and the only thing you need is guess what... a plate!

The possibilities with plates are clearly limitless in the world of Skyrim Cheesy

I vote we call this "plating."

Nice : ), I like! I guess the plate will even stay there so you can use it the other 2 times?

EDIT: we could call it serving : P, glitch served on a silver plate! ^^

It's near a slope, but when I went back, it stayed there yes. Actually it is one of the easiest to pull off with the big platter, because of the way it fits right to the spot where you glitch through. Getting back in bounds can be much faster too, I was just too lazy to record it again ^^

Willing to teach you the impossible
So when plating does it have to be specific plates or any at all? Also, does this work on 360? I guess I should not leave out PS3, so how bout I just ask if it works on all platforms?
Small plates and big platters works for me, platters are a bit better based on my experience. I'm sure it can be several other things, maybe baskets or cauldrons based on the whirlwind sprint OOB trick, I don't know. It has something to do with the physics not being able to handle the object being stuck between you and the wall. Bigger object usually don't get stuck between at all, solid flat objects works best. If the whole thing isn't related to the increased FPS of the PC version, it will work on consoles too. As we're in the console section, someone will surely try it.

Found another shortcut, which you should be able to do when you come back and talked to Esbern and went through the first loadingzone.
Get oob and you will spawn all the way up at the door of the sewers bar.

If we keep finding these glitches, we'll need a dupe glitch soon to have enough plates Cheesy But seriously, we need a plate source. The embassy has some for example. By the way the embassy can be done with only one 'plating', there are several thin spots on the outer wall, you can even see through them without glitching. Not exactly a time saver, but it's one less glitch to reproduce for a SS run.

Ok what do you think about this one. This is actually not glitching through a wall directly. You press the plate against the door but dont try to glitch through instead you go through the loadinzone and go back, the plate will press you out of bounds when you go back.

It might be useful somewhere and might be possible with other things but a plate.

EDIT:
Yeah just did this with a bucket lieing around there!

Have you tried it on different kind of doors? I can't get it to work in my house at whiterun. Tried it with several different objects, but maybe I'm just missing something.

EDIT:
Yeah, tried it on the door you recorded, and it worked with the bucket too. Strange.

I tried a few other doors in the ratway but didnt worked so far. Maybe there is something specific, or specific positioning of the object I dont know yet.
I found a really good spot to easily get into the embassy with one plate, I'll record it tomorrow. Another thing I found is that you can harass NPCs by sprinting into them and make them stop what they're saying. Good for some dialogs where two or more NPCs are speaking with each other. Plating into the locked wardrobe to skip Delphine and Esbern's dialog would be a good idea. If only we could find a way to stand up at the peace treaty and do that...
Sorry for irrelevance but if were going to name the wall clip to something I'd vote for "Platter jumping". Like "Puddle Jumper" in Stargate Atlantis :p.

Also, I tried for maybe an hour to get a truly locked door to let me in using what we've learned so far but it doesn't seem very likely...

Plating all day baby.

Have we confirmed this stuff working on consoles, btw?  Winter break starts a week from today, which is when I will hopefully have time to mess around for myself!
I can confirm that plating works on 360, at least the ones at the embassy. Also, I've had more success with wooden bowls than platters, but that could just be me.

I've also been unable to get through Delphine's locked cabinet, the wall seems too thick. Plating seems to be limited to very thin walls. But I don't really understand it yet, so I dunno.
I have not yet messed around much with plating and have only successfully done it with a platter. Wooden plates, bowls (wooden or not), certain baskets and buckets have gotten me halfway through. I might have just done it wrong previously.

I couldn't get there either but like said, I might have done it wrong. That particular door isn't a problem though, it's possible to talk to Delphine through it when she appears on the wrong side.
Clipping through walls probably works with a lot more things than just plates. I've seen a video of it being done pretty reliably with a kettle.

As promised, here's a faster one plate way into the embassy. The wall is very thin here, just like at High Hrothgar, so it's another easy plating spot for a SS run, got it in the second attempt when recording. The Elder Scroll plating spot still needs a bit of luck, but a SS run is getting more and more favorable. By the way, you don't even need to read the book about Esbern. Leaving the embassy triggers the 'leave the embassy' part of the quest, when I fast traveled to Riverwood the quest automatically started.

Hmm the only issue I see here is that you loose a platter. When you do it with 2 glitches you can pick both time the platter back up after you glitched through.

You can replace it in the embassy right when you enter the Solar. And I grab 2 platters in the Solitude inn (you have to discover Solitude later anyway), so I have one for Hrothgar and one for the Elder Scroll. Where do you get your platters anyway?

The wall is so thin there you can actually see through it, so it might work with any suitable item you can grab on the way. And it works 8 out of 10 times just like the Hrothgar one, so I'd still prefer that one in a SS run. 15 seconds detour to the inn for a much more reliable plating spot.
Again, bowls. Has anyone else tried them? I find them incredibly easy to use, and you can grab two in the room where your hands are unbound while the gate is lowering.
If bowls work, have you tried plating through the locked door and skip looting the keys? I tried that and it didn't work, so I gave up on using bowls.
