It wouldn't really be buried in the sticky thread since that's the go to thread for people looking for bounties. GTA would not be submittable, as it's not a valid category. Everything else should be good. Too bad I have none of these games that I can record. Any preference for PC over console or would either be acceptable?

Well the GTA run with taxis is boring as anything. So even if it's not allowed on SDA, for whatever silly reasons, I'd still pay for it. I would argue it should be allowed for the same reason runs without major skips etc are a different category.

I have no preference with platforms on any of the games.

It'd be a test of endurance just to play the game for as long as 100% would take, I'm sure. If you managed to do a 100% SS I'd be willing to throw an extra £50 in probably Smiley

It'd be a test of endurance just to play the game for as long as 100% would take, I'm sure. If you managed to do a 100% SS I'd be willing to throw an extra £50 in probably :)

The reason GTA VI w/o taxis wouldn't be a valid category is the "without major skips" only refer to skip glitches that bypass parts of a level. Since taxis are meant to be used, it'd be more of a challenge category, and honestly just add time to the run.

The only thing I can think to compare it to would be a warpless run. Not sure how accurate that would be though since I've not played the game.

I think Super Mario Galaxy (1 and 2) is already being worked on as well. Not sure if romscout was working on a SS or a 100% of Fallout 3.

Romscout was doing a SS run with lots of glitches, IIRC. The glitches DQ it here. I was about to contact him about it until I saw that.

I don't mind if runners are already doing them. If it motivates them to get them up faster, great!

And I do understand why there's debate over the GTA4 thing, but I personally feel using taxis takes away a lot of the entertainment from watching a run. Not that it's invalid to do a run like that, of course, as it still takes skill, but since it's my money I don't want to budge on that condition Smiley

Edit: And it is a first come, first serve situation. So if you have competition, get your ass on!

That Fallout 3 Bounty is mighty tempting. It was my favourite game ever. I only have the 360 version though. Would difficulty level make a difference? If not, it might be best to do it on very easy.

Just what quests are needed for that run? Rescue from paradise isn't necessary to enter little lamplight of you have child at heart, and I think galaxy news radio isn't necessary either, but it may require a speech check to bypass.

Galaxy is being worked on, but as far as I know no one was currently planning a SS run. Yoshifan is in the middle of a segmented for 1, and there's just a big collection of levels for 2. By the way, why would it be a 120 star run for Galaxy 2? Wouldn't a 242 star run make more sense if you wanted a 100% run?

Well, you know what I mean, no exploits or massive skips etc. Obviously those are two very janky games so if I see someone walking around headless, I won't DQ the run and count that as a glitch Tongue

All I can give really is my word, I suppose. I've been a big speedrun fan for ages and I think these runs would be genuinely amazing to watch and also really good to add a few more impressive runs to the site. If somebody doesn't trust me, then they won't do it. It requires faith that a speedrun fan such as myself wishes to motivate people to do runs that I would find great to watch.

You offer quite a lot of money, but I don't understand why all the bounties should end at the end of 2011. I seriously doubt at least some will be completed till that time, except maybe Oblivion, but that one was already ongoing before you even offered bounty for it.

Single-segment runs are not as popular as multi-segment and they usually take more time, so one year is really not much time imho.

Also, does it mean that a run must be completed till 31st December or actually present on SDA ? Cause that can take several months.

They must be submitted by the the 31st.

The reason I'm putting a date on it is twofold. The first reason is because I don't want to be waiting around for three years. Selfish reason? Absolutely. The second is more motivation - if there's a tight timeframe I hope people will buckle down and get to them, rather than plan it for 18 months and eventually never get around to running them.

I realise single segment runs aren't as popular, but to me they're way more impressive, which is why I want them all to be SS Smiley

They must be submitted by the the 31st.

DLC weapons and armor, along with pre-order are considered new game+ on SDA. In fact there was discussion of not allowing (or segregating) pre-order items because it locks potential competition (i.e. if you didn't get the pre-order, you can't get the best time).
