Lets get a list going and then use this as a grab bag if players are out of ideas. This is just for games you think would be too far over the 7 hour limit, not games that have no ending. I figure most would be RPGs on this list, but hey, no one thought the final fantasy games could be beat in under 7, but here we are today.

Castlevania?
Out of that list I only know Tales of Destiny and Eternia can be done in under 7 hours.

I think Wild Arms 1 can be done under 7 hours, but I'm honestly not sure on it.
Speed is the key.
Golden Sun 1 & 2?
the easiest way would be to simply open that drawer of games you've got and go through them individually based on what you remember. Takes only like 5-10 minutes. (and i've got about 100 in my collection)

.hack//INFECTION has already been done quick enough.
Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex may well take longer than 7 hours to complete, as the loading screens are about 20 minutes each.
GT3 A-Spec might take a long time to 100%... Smiley
Grandia II is pretty darn long, but I think it will hover below the limit.
Final Fantasy X probably too long just because of the amount of dialogue.
Dark Alliance can be completed in about 3 hours on Easy, but it's dull.
Final Fantasies VII-IX will probably just fit.

There are more games than this, but the others will obviously be short enough.
everybody wanna tell you the meaning of music
I'm not going to scrutinize all of these, but I am willing to bet that a lot more of these than you think are under 7 hours. There are some obvious ones: BoF5 (in fact one day I will do this!) and Ogre Battle for SNES, along with the PS1 Tales I'd heard before. I'm pretty sure of those SNES games as well. FFT you'd have to ask Dragondarch, but it's amazing how fast TRPGs can go when you luck manipulate. Oh, and for Xenosaga 1 in 6 hours, go to http://www.holystar.ch.vu/

I haven't actually started on the run, only come up with a basic plan of attack...no guarantee it'll work like I hope...but I'll give one hell of a shot.

And as for Ogre Battle for SNES, I can almost guarantee that can be done in under 7, if you just boss rush in every stage. I had actually thought of doing this one a while back, and may still consider it for wayyy down the road, along with Tactics Ogre (PSone)

BoF 5 I've actually added to my "Possible Future Runs" category along with many others, including the other 4 BoFs. Again, I'll need to do a lot of testing beforehand, but I think they might be doable.

If any from the BoF series, then 5.
I remember the start of BoF1 where you have to gain at least 2-3 levels before even thinking of reaching the first city alive.

Anyway, Legend of Legaia is another candidate. The fighting sequences are very long, and the random encounter rate is very high starting in tower of sol (sp?).
DMC3,ZOE2 and Xenosaga 2.  Am I crazy?
Xenosaga was done in under 7 hours. I can`t remember the link.

Original Grandia
The legend of Dragoon
I highly doubt FFT can be done in under 10 hours. There are something like 60 required battles and cutscenes aren't skippable. You'd have to spend around 10 minutes per battle and spend no time levelling.
PwNzRd!
100% San Andreas
All Quests KOTOR
All Quests Morrowind

Not to mention the bosses kill ypu with one hit after about 45 minuts of fighting them! I couldn't be the only person that happened to, I just couldn,t! Tongue

Dragondarch is a man of good taste.

Gorash, I just tested and you can get to the 3rd town easily. Not sure about 1st dungeon, which is what really matters, but hey.

Nikuvilin, I posted the link just 3 posts above.

Pweisger, I don't think we should count 100% or anything like that because then this list would explode.

In general, I think most of these can be done. Just think about how long a TAS would take, figure you should be at least faster than twice that long, and most of these seem possible if you segment them up.

Was that with fighting the nemies or with running away?
If you ran away that won't do you much good since you'll get creamed in the first fight then. If you've actually beaten those battles in a row I think I'll have to play the game again... as far as I remember you had the strength to survive one or two fights before you had to go recovering.
Never give up!
I'd like to add two more things to the list.

Wizardry I - VIII / PC (to my knowledge)
Might and Magic I - VII (or whatever edition they're at now) / multiple (that's for the entire set, not for each game)
Obey the Daleks or be Exterminated! Riiiiiiight...
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2

Hmm, pretty much what I think are too long right now.
Tales of Symphonia...?
DMC3,ZOE2 and Xenosaga 2.  Am I crazy?
I think Nocturne is possible. Not sure though. If FF8 can be done then you can do Nocturne.
Hey. I can only think of 3 games that would probably be over 7 hours, but I have my doubts about all of them:

Chrono Cross (Playstation)
Kessen II (Playstation 2)
Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu (Super Famicom)

Chrono Cross just seems to be like Chrono Trigger, in the way that it looks impossible (to me anyway), but then someone is good enough to prove that wrong.

Kessen II, if possible, would be a total pain. You'd have to make it your goal to dodge everyone except the enemy general and finish his/her army before anybody catches up with you.

Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu is the game that I will never let die it seems. I've suggested it and killed the idea more than once I think, but I have a reason to hope.

My logic says that if a game can be completed in 25:xx hours, why not sub-7? Then again, it could just be wishful thinking.
Chrono Cross is so incredibly easy that I got through it without any trouble using nothing but strong attacks. But then again, the game moves so incredibly slow and it has so much unskippable dialogue. I almost died of boredom just thinking of it.
welcome to the machine

Golden Sun 1 & 2?

Golden Sun 1 can be completed in < 6 hours.  The Lost Age takes 6+ on Easy mode.
The BaldurManiac
I agree with tactics ogre... I have the game and tough about speedrunning it.. after a minute i realised that i didn't know what the hell I was thinking about.
100% runs=great to watch
ooh..impossibility thread!  I'll play too: (some of these could be close though)

-Ogre Battle 64
-Most all Super Robot Taisen(Wars) games for any system.  Though I do recall some legends of people managing some insane time on 1 or more of the snes ones with animations turned off and in time for a final secret boss that ya can only get if your total number of turns is some crazy-low number..
-Final Fantasy II..the real one...a la either the NES in japan or as part of the Dawn of Souls combo pack for the GBA.  Props to original III on NES as well.
-Despite legends....Tales of Phantasia....for either PSX, SNES, or GBA.
-Vay(sp?) for the Sega CD
-Warsong/Langrisser series...Genesis, SNES, Saturn, PC, Dreamcast. (close IMO..just like Shining Force games..kinda)
-The Latest Couple...or probaby any of...the Dynasty Warriors franchise.
-Destiny of an Emperor for the NES
-Dual Orb II///SNES
-Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage///N64
-The rest of the .Hack series after Infection for PS2
-Any of the Front Mission games
-All the Devil Summoner games probably
-SaGa Frontier series

I'm sure I can think of some others later on...
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I wonder if any of the Elite series (possibly the 2nd (Frontier) and 3rd (Frontier: First Encounters) ones?) could be done in < 7 hours...
Like A Fox
Skies of Arcadia / Dreamcast iirc
