I've been checking out for the past month and I came to the conclusion that this game isn't as bad as it seems... and this coming from a gamer who mostly plays games where you're able to B-Hop Tongue

I've looked into every map (with the exception of Rise Hard) and I'm quite confident that I could make an entertaining run. Either IL to obsolete the current easy run (which by my standards is an embarrassingly poor run - no offence intended David) or segmented for the most optimal gameplay, I'll probably end up doing the latter.

I attached a couple of demos (if the attachment doesn't work click here) to showcase some of the tricks that I've come up with. I was going to comment on the demos but my Steam is currently not working and I've kinda forgotten what the various demos were for :-[ I still got plenty of stuff that isn't recorded, though.

Along me I've quadrazid who's also playing and DemonStrate who sent me his old demos Wink If anyone wants to contribute, feel free doing so.

Played for a bit.

Lost Cause

Found a way to skip RC bombs, saves quite a chunk of time.
Found out that doing a grenadeboost in the area before the docks makes up for the time of getting a second HE

This grenadeboost isn't that spectacular though Sad You still have to hit a trigger that spawns two enemies and exit through the door leading to the docks to be able to complete the last goal.

Secret War

The second door at the beginning (the non automatic one) opens when you trigger the opening of the rocket silo... worthless.

This jump could be possible with insane airstrafing skills (something that I unfortunately lack), or could it? I don't know how many units the gap is, I'll let quadrazid check that up Wink It would save quite some time. quadrazid knows what's up on this level otherwise.

Downed Pilot

You can go back up through the shaft (by grenadeboosting) after getting RC bombs to skip saving the first pilot, saves time.
You only have to rescue the last hostage in the finishing area and kill the enemies that spawns by the gate to complete the mission. Saves time

Other than that, this level is really straightforward. (so far ;))
If we were you, we would quit now.

edit: Played through Rise Hard, haven't found anything special so far. Found a couple of spots where grenadeboosting will be useful, will dig deeper into the map tomorrow.

Oh, I was also able to reproduce the glitch that marshmellow mentioned in his comments where you can start moving earlier and pick up the knife at the final boss. Nifty

DrugLab

Found a way to skip planting the third RC bomb but it doesn't save as much time as it would do if this game wasn't built up on triggers. Still saves a couple of seconds, but yeah...

I'm going to try to compile down what I've so far on all the maps tomorrow if I got time, stay tuned Smiley
Stuff that we have at the moment, still got loooooooooooooooaaaaaaaads of maps that needs deeper playthroughs. Feel free to request demos if something is unclear. Excuse me for my lack of a better vocabulary; I wrote most of this at 4am.

Recoil

Get boosted by enemies up to your waiting teammate
Skip doing the first escort objective
Kill 3-4 enemies at the extraction point and let the friendly NPC kill the rest (I found this to work out the best because the rest of the bad guys get killed just in time when you get in place for the last escort objective.)

Lost Cause

Get a second HE that is by the hostages
Throw smoke grenade to distract the soldiers by the pushable object to be able to clear the gap directly without pushing it. (Probably not necessary though, I'll have to test it more.)
Use first HE to blow up the explosive barrels that demolishes the crates which otherwise blocks path unless you go an other way by using RC bombs (skips getting RC bombs)

Building Recon

Jump from the car onto one of your teammates to get over the fence and advance without waiting for his speech to finish. (It's a shortcut, too.)
Grenadeboost where you meet up with your team mates and normally would have been forced to wait for air support (see cz_breacon06 & 07 demos for the most optimal (and realistic) boost, the boost from the roof edge would work if you weren't being attacked from 1 billion places at once)

Okay, the reason I haven't been working this lately is that I waited for my new computer to arrive (Hmm, I recall reading something similar on these forums in a related topic a while back ago... strange). Anyway, the computer has arrived and I'm back to business.

Two (really) cool tricks at Building Reacon:

Demo 1
By using the blowtorch on the locker guarding the vent you trigger the two soldiers to run out from their position. By doing that and then going into that passage you can make the two soldiers run into eachother thus preventing them from using the alarm. Precise timing is necessary as you can't run straight pass them; it will make a soldier to the left trigger an alarm. Quite hard to pull off, I say.

Demo 2
The second soldier's attack cancels the first soldier's trigger to set off the alarm. However, the soldier will still set off the alarm once you're by the stairs unless he attacks one of his "teammates" who then will return fire and kill him :p

It's definitely possible to go straight from the door in the first demo to doing the trick in the second demo, I was just got lazy while recording the demos.

Okay, so I finally signed up. Current ETA of the run is unknown as I still got lots of stuff to look into.

Edit: You can actually just run at the second demo, doh. Silly me for trying to do cool stuff. BUT, if you do this strat you'll have to hide behind the corner to lose their attention and then start going for it to reset the timer. Not sure what's faster at the moment.

I made a training speedrun. I hope Mike will put it on the site...
It contains lots of improvements but the grenade trick wasnt useful. So  I just threw it. BTW I am looking forward your next run!
Okay. I think I am about to bring to life this thread. Me and my friend started sorting the existing routes and tricks to make a new run. We are at a very early part of the project but everything goes without problems.
I think we work level by level to stay in order. Its even more powerful.
By the way the run will be segmented like quadrazid and rayv3x's bootcamp run in half life. I'll attach the parts and thats it.

The training map is quite good i think. I could go under 8 minute. So I shaved off 1 and a half minute...
Recoil is going to be the first real level that we will make.

If anybody interested in this stuff please react.

I'm still interested in this game but I haven't been playing it as of late. I got plenty of demos that could be of your interest and I'd be more than glad to have some people to co-op with (if you guys are interested in that or shall we compete? ;))

Well the training mission is my favourite one because I improved it as hell but the others are so annoying.
Anyway I want to do them. Our aim is Recoil now.

WE LOVE COOP MODE! We played svencoop, ofp, swat 4 and its a great feeling. but i dont know what you are talking about. deleted scenes has not got this feature. but if it is something like this i'll take part of it. lets say i played cs 1.6 for two years and my friend too (and he's een better than me). So there would be no movement and aim problems.

I discovered some trick at lost cause and recoil but nothing helped.

Did you use wall strafing??? Because I use it if I can.
Back to the work Smiley I am not very good at grenade boosting...


Anyway, How can I jump up there without grenade?
By being boosted by an enemy.

And by the way, I meant co-op as in working together with a run, not to run it 2-player co-op :p

i think firstly we have to do this cz:ds run. I dont want to work simultaneously.
and it will be on easy difficulty. i dont want to care my health just run and... run.
Guys , a tip ! at the training course , at the dark part where you can pick up the shotgun and where u have to use nightvision goggles , there is  a technique thats called "Countjump" , u can do this to skip the shotgun and complete that part faster.

i discovered the whole level. there is no old tricks except the grenade trick to open the door. i'd say "jump-between-first-two-metal-panel" instead of countjump... Cheesy

Nice run, but you can throw a grenade at the thing you blow up with the RC-bombs as well to save some time. (And this seems to be the only RC-bombable object that you can do so at sadly enough)

Probably, but I wouldn't waste too much time on that level as it is quite uninteresting.

Anyways, I should be able to pull my head out of my arse and start recording this run fairly soon. Have you watched my demos of Lost Cause & Motorcade Assault by the way?

On an unrelated note; it seems that someone got DS co-op (somewhat) working - http://www.gamespot.com/pages/unions/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=24927089&union_id=1272 If anyone has got the files I'd glady have them, might be fun stuff.

Guys , i have two questions Smiley How do you do it on the training course that your grenades won't be taken away when the next door opens ... and on the demos from coolkid "Motorcade" , i believe you only have one shot with the bazooka , how can it be that you have it through the whole level and have more shots ?
