While practicing on MM for a part of my Any% I got hit by one of the enemies while getting a Jiggy. This canceled out Banjo's usual "Get Jiggy" animation. Has this been seen before?

Do you know whether it's grabbing the jiggy while being flung back that does it or, getting the jiggy first then getting hit?

Either way I don't think this was known about, nice find.
I haven't been able reenact the glitch since I accidentally did it. But looking at the video in fullscreen, it looks like I'm getting the Jiggy first. I'll continue to do tests on it. As well as on other elements in the map. Like Kungo's oranges.

You know, I saw cfox doing this in DK64 a couple of days ago to skip the Golden Banana animation, I wouldn't be at all surprised if this works out the same way...
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
I looked at it frame by frame and it seems that you got the Jiggy, then took damage one frame later. In DK64, you can skip the Golden Banana animation by getting hit and being knocked into the GB:

This doesn't seem like the same thing. I tried getting knocked into a Jiggy and the cutscene still played.
This glitch doesn't look like it'll be much of use, at the moment anyways. It's to tedious to setup and in the end, it would be faster to get the Jiggy. I tested it 3 times, only getting it the first time. I also testing to see if the same would in TTC if you landed on the crabs after getting one.
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
It looks like it could be decently reliable if you can find a good way to get the enemy to stand over the Jiggy like he's doing at 0:54. I think you had invincibility when you touched the Jiggy the next two times, so that's why it didn't work. Also, there might be other places in the game where the trick can be set up faster.
I'm working on a 100% run of this game and didn't know about this. I will try to find places it could be easily implemented (if any). Great find <3

Can someone explain why the original poster didn't just bump an already existing Banjo-Kazooie thread?

Because people don't use the search function before posting. I've been noticing a lot of this lately.

Edit: Of course, in this case, there's about 80 BK threads already so it would be hard to pick which one to bump.
Ganondorf = Donkey Kong LOOK IT UP!!
Didn't skip every Jiggy animation. 0/10 Reject
Looks like a good TAS trick for some jiggy's.

ok big complain here, the search function is reallllllllly hidden from the noobs it's not very visible at all...it's only visible if you don't scroll down the page AT ALL,right?
Uhh, it's a bar at the top of the page in the same place the search bar is located on practically every site/forum, and it's accompanied by a magnifying glass icon and a big button saying "Search". How's that hidden in the slightest?

I was not aware that I could just start a topic within a post. If I was, I would've gladly done that. I'm sorry if that has made anyone angry.

You know what else isn't visible if you scroll down at all? The banner linking you back to the front page.

Doesn't mean it somehow magically disappeared.
