Some of you may have noticed a slight change already, but to most it's not evident yet.
For the past two months we've been working hard on some modifications that will make things a bit smoother around here Smiley

One major thing is that we've moved over to an entire new queue system that will allow us to have some better organization for all things regarding submissions.
Information that was previously spread around various other systems is now gathered in the same place.

You might ask: How will this change affect me as a member of the community?
Well, for the most part it's all internal changes to the admin system and the way we work with it, so you won't notice much of it directly. We do have one treat for you however, which is the ability for you as a runner to view how your run is doing in the submission process at any time. This is an option for all newly submitted runs and forward.

Another change is the addition of a semi-automatic verification system which aids in constructing and sending out verification PMs using the recently added SDAVerification account.
Don't worry. Flip will still be in the PM to assist you with any questions that might arise.

Getting this system working has been a joint effort between all the admins and IsraeliRD, but the man who probably spent the most time getting this system running was none other than UraniumAnchor who helped out customizing the system to our specific needs. He worked so much with this and definitely deserve a big round of applause for his contribution!

Now I ask everyone to help us out testing this new system to its full extent. Go submit some great runs or sign up as verifiers today already!
Oh and when you do, please let us know if you see any discrepancies, redundancies or catch something that doesn't seem to be displayed correctly.

The new verification system with the web-link, has a massive security hole problem. I can see all runs in the queue system and also I can download all verification copy's that is current upload in the 'direct' page.

Please do not hate me, but this is not good and it is a bad hole. The team should fix this.
And this is not a joke, over 100 pages. I had not watch all this pages, because I have bad feelings.

While that's certainly something I should fix, I wouldn't call that a 'massive security hole', since it's not like people couldn't spread the links around anyway.

Edit: Actually, judging from what you just said, that's not a hole at all. That's by design. Unless I'm misunderstanding you.

What, specifically, do you think is the security hole? Being able to see basic information about runs currently in the system is intentional.

Is there a run in particular that lets you download something you think you shouldn't be able to?

Feel free to PM me if you'd rather be more cautious.

I was not login ? it must be automatically login, after login sda forums ? I do not know, or it is, because I was not change my IP adress.
I was check all pages again and I can read the informations the names and the dates, but dl links are not more work. My last test with dl was ~1-2 weeks ago. But it is to much on information, it is easy to find all.

It's normal and intended for you to be able to see run names and
Completion dates. If you are seeing runner names on
Unverified runs that's not intended and I'll have to fix that, but it's not exactly a huge security breach either.I'm still not clear on what you're seeing that you think you're not supposed to be. On a side note typing on a tablet with a shitty wireless is really annoying

That was happens for some weeks ago, I had forget the game titles, because I do nothing know of the most games in this list. And for the true, it was also happens for three or four years ago.
I had not check this today, because it was for two or one week ago, me was so boring on this day and I had fully read some pages, not all, because of bad feelings. Than I was think it must be variable of the date and yes it was so. When you or some other change the pages than I can read this (I only must have time and must re open the browser several times and you know for your self a bit backdoor is open for a little time). There are was also some pages with runs I had never see in the verification index. The next problem is the informations, when I know enough than it is easy to find the runner (when the runner name is not available) and the run on streaming sites, that is meaning for runs in the darker section, which the runners would anonymity.

in your pm, I had send you the links for the two new runs that I had self submited. And a other link with a game, that I had wrote a post in the newer console verify dk. That is all so sad. sorry and I hope I am not banned for this.

I don't think there is very much anonymity now anyways. I mean, the runner still has the option to remain anonymous but many of us submit the encoded runs with our name right on the statID. Plus, most people who are active on the forums know who is running what games. If they streamed the run, it's probably safe to say they weren't trying to disguise who did the run. Tongue

Really, I don't see the need to hide your identity in most cases. Granted if you are a newcomer, then it might be a good idea to stay in the shadows, but otherwise, if people know you submitted the run, then really there is little to no way of hiding who you are (nor any reason to).
